"The performance of our global or cross-functional teams seems to be affected by communication gaps and disconnects over priorities and direction. Our internal teambuilding guidelines don't seem to be sufficient to pull these teams together for the excellence we need. What's missing?"
Global companies are moving toward integration of key functions at virtually every level of the organization. The rise of global teams in recent years accentuates the importance of successful cross-border interaction to achieve global visions. Diverse teams need the commitment not only of all team members but also of the functionally or geographically dispersed organizations that team members represent or need to work with.
However, global teams face unfamiliar cultural challenges in creating commitment to shared goals and processes. Differences in assumptions, identity gaps and communication issues often make it difficult for a team to move forward as planned. Such problems can reduce the team's ability to meet its goals and can require it to scale back the expectations of its original charter.
CCG works with managers and team members to identify gaps, arrive at shared expectations, and establish collaborative team processes. We help them recognize cultural factors critical for success. We provide workshops to develop skills and coach members in the workplace as they apply the skills.
