LEED Platinum and LEED Silver Certified Clarke Buildings in Illinois
Two of Clarke’s facilities have officially been recognized as LEED Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council!
Our service and manufacturing center in Roselle, Illinois, was honored with LEED Platinum status, the Council’s highest certification level. Although Clarke has owned this property in Roselle for a long time, the site was expanded and office and crew buildings were rebuilt in 2018 and 2019. Thanks to sustainable site-planning, geothermal systems, and rooftop solar arrays, this facility produces more renewable energy than it consumes.
This property is our operational heartbeat, serving as home base for all our Mosquito Control service activities in Illinois. It’s also where we manufacture all of our proprietary liquid mosquito control products, including our well-known brands Anvil, Duet and Merus. One of the most popular features of this building is right inside the front entry door – a beautiful living plant wall that also helps regulate the indoor humidity and air quality levels.
Clarke’s headquarters building in St. Charles, Illinois, was also awarded LEED Silver status. Clarke purchased this property and completed a major renovation in 2013 before consolidating all of our corporate staff and research & development activities here in April 2014. The vision for this property was truly employee-led, and the people-oriented facility design is reflected throughout the building. It’s a workplace that is environmentally efficient through the use of natural light, is conducive to productivity with every employee having a view to the outdoors, and promotes creativity, innovation and interdepartmental collaboration through open and airy workspaces, plus small, medium and large scale meeting rooms.
While we have always known these buildings were built to be as efficient as possible, these credentials formerly recognize the intent and effort that went into the sustainable and people-centric design and operations of these spaces. More than anything, these buildings are a physical reflection of our core values as an organization: caring for the planet and people, being passionate about what we do, and doing the right thing, even when it is hard.
